Name the note: from the instrument back to the staff

The Name the note quiz is the reverse of Find the note: the app points at a position on the guitar fretboard or a piano key, and you pick the matching note on the staff. It trains the exact reflex sight-reading needs — see a symbol, know the sound, no counting ledger lines.

Why practice both directions?

Memorizing one direction (note → position) does not automatically give you the other. Fluent readers need both reflexes: staff to hand position, and instrument position back to note name. Alternating the two quizzes builds far more durable memory than staring at a fretboard chart.
